General Motors is recalling certain units of the 2014-2015 Chevrolet Silverado and 2014-2015 GMC Sierra pickup trucks over an issue with the seatbelt system.
The defect: the flexible steel cable that connects the seat belt to the vehicle can fatigue and separate over time as a result of the driver repeatedly bending the cable when entering the seat.
The hazards: if the flexible steel cable that connects the seat belt to the vehicle fatigues and separates, the performance of the seat belt system will deteriorate. This can lead to injury during a crash or accident.
Reported injuries or fatalities: this issue was discovered through warranty data, and there have been no reports of crashes, injuries or fatalities related to this issue.

To be fair, 1998 is almost 20 years away (and now we all feel disgustingly old…) but it certainly doesn’t feel that far away. Chevrolet has since graced us with a new midsize truck, by the way of the 2016 Colorado, but it’s predecessor, the S10, would beg to differ about its sizing.
The S10 has a certain cool factor about it, probably something to do with its overall size. And the example you see here is equipped with a four-cylinder engine mated to a four-speed manual transmission. It’s also been done up with an interesting patina paint job and a custom wood floor.
While this may not qualify as old school, it’s certainly trying hard to qualify. Check out all of the details at the Craigslist link right here.

Add this to the list of things you thought you’d never see, then quickly scratch it off. A 1998 Cadillac Eldorado has surfaced for sale on Craigslist in Southwest Michigan, but it’s riding on a 1985 Chevy Blazer‘s frame.
This has allowed the seller to install a 6-inch suspension lift, and 38-inch Super Swamper tires, thus, creating one of the most oxymoronic vehicles we’ve encountered. Floating luxury meets in-your-face off-road capabilities.
The seller also states the old Northstar engine has been ripped out and replaced with a built 350 cubic-inch small-block V8, coupled with a custom cam, four-barrel Edelbrock carburetor, new exhaust and headers.
There are lots of ways to turn heads, this is one of those sitting on the more extreme side of things. And all for the low, low price of $7,000. Check out the entire ad at the link here.

Following the demise of the death of the General Motors’ B platform, the large station wagon largely died with it. 20 years later, these wagons are actually kind of cool.
But, Rutledge Wood’s is even cooler. And, it’s for sale.
Wood’s 1996 Roadmaster Estate Wagon features the 5.7-liter V8 engine, and a four-speed slush box to boot. Noise comes from the Magnaflow exhaust, which should help bystanders do a double take as you roll by. The exterior has also been outfitted with custom paint and “barn wood” style wood paneling. Not that fake stuff.
18-inch Summit Racing Legend Series gunmetal wheels with polished lip are wrapped in Toyo Extensa HP tires, giving the 1996 Roadmaster a one-of-a-kind look, that’s for sure. But the Hotchkis lowering kit helps, too.
The Buick was built for the Lost in Transmission documentary featured by The History Channel, and the seller is ready to let this beaut’ go

Despite the upheaval that is Holden manufacturing, the brand’s design studio will stay decidedly Australian. The news comes from Motoring, after GM Holden Design Director Richard Ferlazzo, stated the studio will not move to a more fashionable location. Currently, the precinct and site the studio is located on is for sale.
Ferlazzo made the comments at a function last week to reveal the latest vehicles the studio has been working on, where he said more information will be available next month on said vehicles.
“We have no intention of moving away from here. This is a fabulous city and we travel anyway. Melbourne is a serious city. Sure we would love to have an advanced studio on the Gold Coast or something like that as well, but we have 150 specialists right here right now,” he said.
GM Australia Design, its formal title, was established over 50 years ago,

The 2016 GMC Sierra HD has been launched in the Middle East, boasting new features, including Active Steering Assist.
Active Steering Assist power steering is available on some double cab and crew cab models. It makes hauling and trailing easier by enhancing traction and stability while offering greater responsiveness and improved steering feel. Other technology includes IntelliLink which features either a 7-inch or 8-inch screen display. A wireless phone charging station is an available option, as well as a remote locking tailgate.
Another new addition for the 2016 year is a Gooseneck/5th Wheel Trailering Prep Package enables the Sierra HD to drive off the lot ready to tow large trailers. It features a frame-mounted hitch platform and tray that incorporates a gooseneck ball hitch, and includes a cargo bed-mounted trailer harness. A Gooseneck Completion Kit will also be available from GMC dealerships, and it features

The team at Nelson Racing Engines, makers of the ‘Alien’ intake, are planning on running a Chevrolet COPO Camaro that is said to be capable of reaching 260 miles per hour in the upcoming 2016 Texas Mile.
While the COPO Camaro shown in this video isn’t ready for the strip just yet, though it does run and drive. At this point it just needs to be dialed in. What we’re shown is an almost erotic detour of the Camaro’s undercarriage – starting in the rear with the parachutes and carbon fiber diffuser, then flaunting those snazzy transmission coolers, and slowly moving down the driveshaft. There’s fuel lines (it’s got 2 fuel systems, yes, 2), oil lines, and transmission cooler lines galore. If you’re not entirely sure what you’re looking at, video host and NRE owner Tom Nelson (camera guy) identifies each component for you.
The real treat, though, is under the hood of

Craigslist, the internet land of all things strange to sell privately. We could sit on the site for hours looking at obscure vehicles in search of a new home, but sometimes, a vehicle really stands out.
This Pontiac Fiero race car is one of them, no doubt. The seller states the project started as Fiero, without a model year for our reference. Now, it’s a full-blown race vehicle, sporting an LS3 V8 engine and five-speed manual gearbox. Only 5,000 miles sit on the new powertrain combination.
Specifics are limited (surprise) but the seller also states the car has quality components, and judging from the photos, it looks pretty legitimate to us. It could be a track day bargain, too, as the current asking price is merely $9,500. Check out the full listing right here.

The LS7-powered Youabian Puma has resurfaced and is for sale once again. After the bizarre vehicle displayed itself at the 2013 LA Auto Show, the “pleasure vehicle” – as it’s been once described – was later put up for sale with an asking price of $1.1 million. Now it’s up for grabs again, for a slightly less $895,000.
Even if we were to win the Powerball – which features a winnings of over $1 billion at the time of this writing – we still wouldn’t buy the Puma. Monster trucks are cool, convertibles are cool, the LS7 V8 is a gift from the automotive gods, and we’ve got nothing against Volvo – but when you put all of these things together… eesh.
All that aside, consider the price. One could buy a C7 Corvette Z06 convertible to satisfy the desires for a drop top, a fifth-gen Camaro Z/28 to feel the wrath of

The 1947 Chevrolet Rat Rod you see here looks as if the builder fused together an Ariel Atom and old rust-bucket. While that isn’t the exact DNA of this machine, it is a Frankenstein build with parts coming from three different sources.
The body is a 1947 Chevrolet half-ton with a chopped cab. According to the eBay listing the cab was stripped down to bare metal and clear coated with a copper pearl. The powertrain is a 5.3L V8 out of a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe, and it’s backed by an automatic Turbo 400 transmission. A 1995 Mercury Cougar was picked apart and used as the rear frame, oddly, with an 8.8 independent rear suspension and 3.08 gears. The front frame comes from a 1995 S10, and features Bullstein drop spindles.
A Frankencar, indeed.
Other features of the rat rod include a crescent wrench shifter handle, drift hand-brake,
