Masked man who allegedly tried to kill officer identified – The Register

SPRINGFIELD The masked man accused of attempting to murder a Springfield police officer in Coburg following an intense chase in a stolen vehicle late Sunday night has been booked into the Lane County Jail and identified through public jail records.

Iosif Fomich Ivanov, 38, faces 12 felony charges, including three counts of attempted aggravated murder, attempted second-degree assault, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, attempt to elude police in a vehicle, unlawful use of a weapon, being a felon in possession of a weapon, unlawful delivery of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of methamphetamine, and assault on a public safety officer.

Springfield police initially declined to identify Ivanov before he was booked into the jail because he is a fugitive in another jurisdiction, Springfield police Lt. Scott McKee said. Details about the other alleged crime, including where it occurred, have not
