There’s no one more inventive than a Texas pitmaster, but one Garland barbecue enthusiast may have built the most unique smoker of all time using the body of a 1988 Cadillac DeVille.
Texas Monthly barbecue editor Daniel Vaughn unearthed the Craigslist listing for the glorious smoker, which has a capacity of 1,300 pounds. “This is a custom homemade BBQ trailer grill,” reads the listing. “Great for parties, weddings, or family unions [sic].” The smoker is also mounted to a trailer hitch, and the front seats have been replaced with racks perfect for holding ribs and brisket.
For barbecue obsessives who just can’t live without this totally customized Caddy smoker, it’s still totally for sale. Its owner is only asking an entirely reasonable $1,800 (or best offer, so maybe there’s some haggling room), but don’t be surprised if this gem doesn’t get snapped up in a

METHUEN — Firefighters were out on the back deck of the Central Fire Station during a shift change Monday morning when two passers-by alerted them to a fire just a few buildings away.
Deputy Fire Chief Dan Donahue said two women were out walking their dogs and alerted the firefighters to blaze at 9 River St., just a short distance from the Lowell Street fire station.
Sure enough, in the distance, Donahue said he could “see the smoke coming from the roof” of the building.
Firefighters responded to the one-alarm blaze at 7:24 a.m. The fire was knocked down in about 15 minutes and the last fire truck cleared the scene around 8:40 a.m., Donahue said. Investigators determined the cause to be electrical and unintentional.
“It was knocked down pretty quickly,” Donahue said. “It did some structural damage to the roof, but all the contents are fine.”
The River Street building, situated along the Spicket

The most significant change to the 2012 Cadillac SRX is the direct-injection 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 308 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. It is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission that features a Sport mode, and has a manual-shift capability that enables you to hold one of the intermediate ratios all the way to the engine’s redline.
Despite the increase in power, the direct-injected V6 is actually more fuel-efficient than its predecessors. For the front-wheel-drive SRX, it delivers EPA-estimated fuel economy of 17 city/24 highway mpg and 19 mpg combined (subtract 1 mpg in all categories for the all-wheel-drive model), on par with most of its competitors. There is also an “Eco” mode, which Cadillac says is good for squeezing out an additional 1 mpg. This engine is now capable of running on E85 fuel. More important, it can now run on regular gasoline, as many of the

The Denver Nuggets have been chasing starry veterans the last two years, determined to add experience and firepower to a promising young core.
They finally landed a big one Sunday, agreeing to terms with four-time All-Star Paul Millsap on a three-year deal worth $90 million, a person with knowledge of the situation told The Associated Press. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the contract cannot be signed until Thursday.
The former Atlanta forward was one of the strongest free agents remaining on the board two days into the new business year, not counting Warriors superstar Kevin Durant, who is expected to re-sign with Golden State.
The Nuggets engaged with Millsap early in the process, outlasting several other teams, including the Phoenix Suns and Atlanta Hawks, whose new GM Travis Schlenk acknowledged could get outbid for the 32-year-old’s services before free agency started.
Millsap gives the young Nuggets a proven veteran who should

The 2018 BMW X5 is a popular luxury crossover SUV available with seating for up to seven.
It’s a strong overall package, albeit one that lacks some of the BMW verve of yore. We’ve rated it a 7.2 out of 10 based on its excellent real-world usability, strong engines, and varied lineup. (Read more about how we rate cars.)
The X5 changes little for 2018, other than a sport-tuned version of its automatic transmission is now standard on almost all versions, and the German automaker has shuffled option packages to act more like trim levels. That means that the popular Premium package—which you’re likely to find on just about every X5 stocked on a dealer lot—now acts as a gateway to most individual options. There’s less configurability, but little lacking in this lineup.
The X5 remains available with 3.0-liter turbo-6 or 4.4-liter twin-turbo V-8 gas engines, a 3.0-liter

We knew the 2018 Lincoln Navigator—the reboot of the brand’s full-size SUV with the Midas touch—would be a big deal. It’s even bigger than that.
This week, Lincoln announced a new Destination trim, which is part of its upmarket “Black Label” series, and a long-wheelbase option that adds about a foot and includes wider rear doors and more interior storage.
Taking cues from vintage luggage and the heydays of luxury air travel, according to Lincoln, the Destination series will sport red leather with diamond-pattern stitching on the seats and laser-engraved wood in the cabin.
You’ll need to pay $94,900 for the Destination, which is the same price for fellow Black Label trim levels Chalet and Yacht Club. Yes, like travel in the 1950s, the Swiss Alps, or any form of yachting, the Black Label series Navigators are fairly expensive, especially when you consider that the base price for Lincoln’s full-size SUV is
