Guess who’s buying tiny Tiller, Oregon?

By now the whole world knows that the entire southern Oregon town of Tiller was up for sale. What’s not known is the name or intentions of the buyer.

After news about the opportunity to purchase a slice of the American dream with little red tape went viral earlier this month, offers and ideas started pouring in.

The sleepy town once dominated by the logging industry could be anyone’s with $3.85 million and a plan to retain the quiet ambiance and not disrupt the lives of the 250 people who live nearby, according to listing agent Garrett Zoller.

Three solid offers shot in quickly, and they’re still rolling in.

Zoller of Medford-based Land and Wildlife realty received inquiries from Chinese investors and California developers. A man in New Jersey, hoping to escape the East Coast rat race, wanted to put together a group of friends to buy the unincorporated

North Carolina dominates NCAA Final Four talk across country; Oregon tied for last place

Everybody loves a winner, which must be why the University of North Carolina is dominating Final Four-related Google searches in almost every state. The Tar Heels have won five NCAA tournament titles, most recently in 2009. All-time greats such as Michael Jordan have laced them up for ol’ UNC. The late Dean Smith, who coached at the school for more than 30 years, is one of college basketball’s towering figures.

Then there are the three other teams. Little Gonzaga University in out-of-the-way Spokane has been a tournament regular for more than a decade, but this is the Bulldogs’ first appearance in the Final Four. It’s the top-searched team in all of two states: home-state Washington and neighboring Idaho.

The University of Oregon and the University of South Carolina, the Final Four’s underdogs, only win the search race in their own states. Oregon is in its first national semifinal since it won the

Portland’s biggest Pokemon tournament draws nostalgia, world-class competitors

A few years ago, Sam Hough traveled to Utah for a one-week family vacation.

At least that’s what he told classmates who didn’t press the issue.

He didn’t want to make a big deal about it, but had anyone, Hough would have told the truth: He was at a Pokemon tournament, competing at one of the highest levels in the franchise’s trading card game.

On Saturday, Hough was at it again in the Oregon Convention Center, joining 615 other Pokemon enthusiasts determined to be the very best. (Like no one ever was.)

He’s been at it since he was 9.

Now 17, the Grant High School junior is known as one of the top Pokemon players in the world. The set of cards he used in the 2016 master’s division championship is even displayed on the game’s official website.

What’s more, there’s video of Hough’s matches on YouTube.

Hough’s more open about the hobby now. That’s not altogether surprising —

The Cadillac Escalade was completely redesigned last year. It comes with a new 6.2-liter, 420-horsepower V-8 engine, connected to a six-speed automatic transmission.

The newest generation of Cadillac’s full-size SUV, the Escalade, came to market just last year, featuring more of what has always made it popular: luxury, versatility and styling. It’s also more fuel-efficient.

For 2016, the only changes are the addition of standard Lane Keep Assist on all trim levels; enhanced CUE infotainment features, including Apple CarPlay capability; and four new exterior colors: Gray Silk Metallic, Red Passion Tintcoat, Crystal White Tricoat and Dark Emerald Metallic.

A product of the General Motors Arlington plant along with its siblings, the Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban and GMC

2016 Cadillac CTS-V Pricing

Unlike some high-performance luxury cars, Cadillac bakes most of the important equipment into the CTS-V standard so buyers won’t have to spend a lot more to access the sedan’s ultimate potential.

What Is It?
The Cadillac CTS-V is a high-performance midsize luxury sport sedan based on the basic chassis and body shell of the CTS sedan. And to battle the best sport sedans from Europe, Cadillac installed a brutally powerful supercharged 6.2-liter V8. The sophisticated engine generates 640 hp at 6,400 rpm and 630 pound-feet of torque at 3,600 rpm.

That’s just 10 fewer horses than the fire-breathing Corvette Z06. Cadillac backs this mill with an eight-speed automatic that can be manually shifted by steering-wheel-mounted paddles. Yes, the aforementioned Corvette makes a manual transmission available, but Cadillac representatives say so few would choose the option on the CTS-V

Fleet of over 40 classic cars hidden in a Michigan garage and not touched for 30 YEARS sell for $300000 at auction

An auction company in Michigan has sold a collection of classic cars for more than $300,000 after being tipped off to the location.

Repocast, a ‘recovery and sales division’ of Miedema Asset Management Group, was given the keys to the cars by a family looking to off-load their father’s collection, which had gone untouched for as many as 30 years.

Scott Miedma and a pit crew of colleagues hit the road for Grand Rapids earlier this year to meet the family, who after a quick feeling-out session at a Denny’s fast food store, let them kick the tires

Inside the family’s garage were more than 40 cars collected over the past 50 years or so, including a fleet of 28 Ford Thunderbirds from the late 1950s to the 1976 ‘big bird’ model.

Many of the cars were in

The 2018 Tahoe RST is the muscle car of Chevy SUVs

Chevrolet is adding some muscle to its full-size family truck.

The Tahoe is now available with GM’s 420 hp 6.2-liter V8, which was previously reserved for SUV duty in the GMC Acadia Denali and Cadillac Escalade. The current Tahoe tops out with a 355 hp 5.3-liter V8.

It comes in a performance package offered on the sporty new Tahoe RST model, which features black trim, a body colored grille surround, and a set of eye-popping 22-inch rims. A Suburban RST is also offered with only the appearance updates.

Along with the engine, the package brings GM’s new 10-speed automatic transmission, a sport-tuned version of its Magnetic Ride Control active suspension and a free-flowing Borla exhaust system. Chevy claims the pipes boost the amount of power that makes it to the rear wheels by as much as 10 hp and help the Tahoe RST

2 killed in Houma area crashes Saturday, State Police say

Louisiana State Police responded to two separate crashes in the Houma area Saturday morning (March 18) that resulted in two deaths.

The first incident was a two-vehicle crash that fatally injured 31-year-old Britt Domangue of Houma, according to a report from State Police.

Authorities say Domangue was driving a 2011 Ford Ranger southbound on Highway 660 near Bayou Gardens Boulevard (map) before 6 a.m. when he ran off the roadway to the right. He struck a bridge guardrail before his vehicle reentered the highway, and authorities said he crossed the centerline and was struck by a northbound 2010 Honda Element.

Domangue was not wearing a seat belt and sustained fatal injuries, the report stated. He was pronounced dead by the Terrebonne Parish Coroner’s Office.

The driver of the Honda Element, identified by authorities as Mercedes Patterson, 24, of Abilene, Texas, was properly restrained and suffered moderate injuries. She was taken by Acadian
