Portland man buys Cadillac day after stealing large stash of cash from Portland restaurant, police say

A 57-year-old man is accused of stealing a stash of cash from a North Portland restaurant.

Michael Lee Dizer is in custody in the downtown Portland jail after he was booked on allegations of first-degree aggravated theft, second-degree burglary, third-degree robbery, harassment and third-degree assault.

Dizer, police said, was caught on camera last Tuesday entering the office of the Overlook Restaurant at 1332 N. Skidmore St., where the owner had just placed about $30,000 in cash in a drawer, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in Multnomah County Circuit Court.

Dizer was seen standing near a video poker machine, watching the owner and then going down a hallway that said “Employees only” and spending about four minutes in the office before he left the restaurant, according to police.
