GSpeed Looks To Uncover The Cooling Problems Plaguing The C7 Corvette Z06

The 6.2-liter LT4 supercharged V8 hasn’t had the greatest track record, leading to some embarrassments in the 2016 C7 Corvette Z06. Cooling issues have put the car in a pickle on more than one occasion, as experienced by professionals and owners a like.

Corvette Blogger reports on GSpeed’s attempt to solve the issue once and for all. To do so, GSpeed has taken to the Motorsports Ranch in Cresson, Texas for extreme testing to see what causes the car to enter limp mode after such a short period of time.

GSpeed states the 2016 C7 Corvette Z06 saw water temperatures of 260-degrees when it was run at Circuit of the Americas, and oil temperatures of almost 300-degrees, something they consider unacceptable. After six laps, the Corvette Z06 caved, and entered limp mode before pulling off.
