Authorities have identified the man killed Wednesday on Southeast Division Street as 21-year-old Kyle Polk.
The Oregon State Medical Examiner determined that Polk died of a gunshot wound.
Witnesses said they heard four to five gunshots ring out at Southeast Division Street and 112th Avenue Wednesday afternoon. Polk was found at the door of a Plaid Pantry and died at the scene.
Police say they don’t know yet what motivated the shooting, bureau spokesman Sgt. Pete Simpson said in a news release.
It was the second shooting Wednesday in Portland, but Simpson said the shootings don’t appear to be related. It’s the 30th homicide in the city this year.
Witnesses told police that the suspect or suspects fled Wednesday’s shooting in a large white SUV.
